We like this material – it is a sandwich of plastic polymer with a skin of aluminium either side and is perfect for medium term signs. It is often referred to as Dibond. Strong, relatively light and dimensionally stable it is easy to drill and fit on site and offers an outdoor life of 5+ years.
For additional abrasion resistance and enhanced outdoor life the print is protected by a hard wearing durable scuff-resistant laminate. You have a choice of square or rounded corners.

Dibond is a brand name. There are many other manufacturers in the market offering similar products with wildly differing qualities, some exceptionally good, and some, quite frankly, dreadful. Sadly, the cheaper poor quality materials are becoming widely used. This is what you need to know to avoid a bad buy:
In the sign trade, this material is referred to as ACM (aluminium composite material). The key aspect of a good quality sheet is the thickness of the aluminium skin. All the decent variants of this material have an aluminium skin of 0.3mm. We are now regularly seeing versions of this material with a skin thickness down to 0.2mm and in some case 0.12mm – that equates to a 60% reduction in the amount of aluminium in the sheet. The effect of this reduction is an extreme loss rigidity and a tendency to bow and buckle on a warm day. In addition, these cheap materials start to peel apart in as little as six months.
An ACM sign you purchase from us has the requisite 0.3mm skin and comes with a ten year guarantee against delamination.
